Orchestrator & Music Supervisor
After graduating from Christ Church, Oxford, BA (Oxon), David studied conducting with George Hurst, Colin Metters (Royal Academy Of Music) and Franco Ferrara (Siena), making his debut performance on Broadway at the age of 25.
Opera and Operetta credits include: Gianni Schicchi (RAM), Die Kluge, Bastien e Bastienne, La Serva Padrona (Opera Plus), Carmen (High Wycombe), La Nozze di Figaro (High Wycombe), Cosi Fan Tutte (Bad Orb/Frankfurt Opera Orchestra), The Mayer-Lismann Opera Workshop, Porgy and Bess, HMS Pinafore (London and Broadway for New Sadlers Wells Opera), Bitter Sweet, The Gondoliers, La Belle Helene (NSWO), Candide (Wermland Opera, Karlstad).
Musicals include: My Fair Lady (National, Olivier Award for Best Musical), South Pacific (National), The Far Pavilions, Martin Guerre (Olivier Award for Best New Musical), The Witches Of Eastwick, Sunset Boulevard (West End and Frankfurt), Les Misérables (West End, Stockholm, Paris, Madrid, Buenos Aries, Shanghai and in Concert with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra), An Entertainment with Philip Quast (Donmar Warehouse with Jason Robert Brown), Chess (Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra), Cordelia, Jesus Christ Superstar (Bournemouth), Yusupov (Sidmonton,Festival), Gone With The Wind (West End), Sunset Boulevard (Musical Supervisor, Orchestrator & Musical Director of new productions in Karlstad & Gothenburg Opera), and Crazy For You (Wermland Opera – summer 2011).
David is currently Associate Musical Director on Lion King (West End). and was recently made a Fellow of the Royal Academy Of Music for his services to musical theatre.
From Here To Eternity premiered at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London’s West End on 30 September 2013.
